Description

Brendan Vengolor, real name Alwyn Vengolor, is a Half-Elf male with light green eyes, fine cheekbones, and long blonde hair. He is repeatedly described as looking "strikingly" like Br'aad Vengolor.

Background/History

Brendan fell in love with one of King Rigmund's consorts, Miriam, resulting in a secret relationship and later the birth of their first son, Sylnan. Promptly before the birth of their second son, Br'aad, King Rigmund discovered their affair and became enraged, killing Miriam right after Br'aad's birth.

This event caused a desire for vengeance within Brendan, resulting in him later selling his soul in exchange for great power. As mentioned in A2 Episode 3: Worst Case Scenario, Brendan sold his soul to Ungaroh, which allowed him access to another plane of existence to pull power from. This energy became a part of Brendan, erasing all love and care that existed for his sons and turning him into a shell of the man he formerly was.

Brendan used his power to build a strong underground crime ring in The Wharf.

Arc 1

Brendan first appears in half-episode 10.5: Risky Business, where he threatens Mountain and Sylnan after kidnapping and tying them up. He appears again briefly in Episode 11: The Rest of the Story, when he drops off the unconscious Mountain and Sylnan at the abandoned factory. The party come face to face with Brendan again in Episode 26: Brothers Help Brothers where they fight and successfully kill him. Before dying, it seems that Brendan has a moment of clarity through the "evil" that has overtaken his mind through his pact with Ungaroh, as he thanks Br'aad for killing him and then tells him to run away.

Arc 2

Brendan appears once more in A2 Episode 3: Worst Case Scenario, where he comes out of the briefcase in a shadow energy form and speaks with Sylnan and Br'aad. Notably, this figure is not the father of the Vengolors, but is referred to as an "echo" of what Brendan was.

In A2 Episode 25: Broken Faith, Brendan is in Br'aad's memory flashback during a call, and is seen threatening younger Br'aad and Sylnan. In episode 31, Out Of The Blue, Brendan makes an appearance shortly after Sarc's death.

Brendan is resurrected by The Fated in hopes to get information on how to take down Ungaroh from him (wip)
