Background/History

Prior to his death in the Shadowskull Massacre, Captain Shadowbeard outlasted all the other Pirate Lords. His death signified the end of the age of the Pirate Lords. He organized a large crew and housed them on his own personal island. Unlike Captain Rose, Captain Shadowbeard was revered for the fear he spread. He pursued wealth, fitting the typical goal of a pirate, and combatted oppressive governments.

Elizabeth Lafayette joined his ranks sometime after the Hole in the Sea and grew close to him, though it's not clear whether their relationship was familial, platonic, or only the connection between captain and crewmate.
