"This crew is forever. We are forever." -Ezme, to Captain Tastrius.

Description[]

Appearance[]

Ezme Aelinor was a genderfluid Aasimar with short, shoulder length white hair that hid their forehead with straight bangs. Their skin was dark and off-black, and they bore two great red wings. They wore a red pirate's jacket with a puffed white collar, a green-brown vest, blue pants, and a thick leather strap across their chest to hold their cutlass sword. Ezme also wore a thick brown pirate's hat. Like their captain, parts of Ezme had been wounded and removed entirely after centuries of adventure. One of their wings was completely removed and replaced with a corporeal green glowing one, as well as their right arm and two large scars, one across their face and one across their other arm.

While they were able to keep a more youthful facade up with magic, as Ezme was fought by Tastrius and the Albatrio, this facade began to fade as their skin grew cracked, grey and cold. Their wings lost many of their red feathers to become more skeletal, and their face oozed with a black tar-like liquid.

Personality[]

Ezme was the helmsperson of Captain Tastrius' crew; being his closest friend, implied lover, and the one who made the deal to give them all immortality. Their heart acted as the key holding the "pact" together. They were a dangerous fighter who was angry and vindictive. They were aggressive against their captain and all who try to end the curse of immortality. Little else is known about their personality outside of their blind rage the deal had left them with after so many years of living.

Background/History[]

Part of the crew of Captain Tastrius, Ezme had made a deal with a "mysterious figure" for the prosperity and the long lives of their entire crew. It worked, but lead to a life of immortality where their wounds never truly healed and their fatigue never truly went away. For centuries they lived with slowly unraveling sanity, until along with the majority of the crew, they went insane from time and the curse. They and their crewmates were extremely protective of their curse, even going as far as attempting to kill those who try to break it.

In Episode 55: Till Death Do We Part, Ezme had finally found Captain Tastrius and the Riptide Pirates with the intention of preventing him from ending the curse. They did not outwardly try to kill him or the crew, but threatened to do so if Tastrius tried to break their immortality. During the fight, the magic they used to keep themselves looking lively began to fade, and they grew more skeletal before black ooze finally began to pour from their mouth and eyes. When the captain eventually managed to end their centuries long suffering and put the ghostly crewmates to rest, Ezme was at last able to break from the insanity clouding their mind. They were thankful and teary-eyed, and before they finally managed to break away from the physical realm, they said to Tastrius one final line: "Till death do we part."

While their and Tastrius' relationship exactly is unknown, Ezme showed an endless amount of care and love for Tastrius even when they were pushed to the brink of insanity and were fighting against his attempts to put them to rest. The entire reason they didn't want the curse to be broken was because then them and their captain would be apart and their time together would end. After Ezme was put to rest and the Riptide Pirates travelled to a small island where Tastrius claimed a treasure to be, among said treasure they found a small locket containing a picture of a younger Tastrius and Ezme looking happy beside one another, dawning ornate clothing.
