Description[]
Jacquot Beaufremont is a Human male, with dark black hair and silver eyes, from an area described as "the D&D equivalent of France" in season 1 episode 6 Book Club. He is of the Noble class in the Great King's Wharf, and has very elegant mannerisms and attire. During his first appearance in season 1 episode 6, Book Club, he is described wearing a silver mask with elvish runes carved into it, which covers half his face.
Background/History[]
Jacquot was forced to go by the last name Beaufremont due to his troubled past. Jacquot's parents were beaten and hung after finding out King Rigmund's dark past. Jacquot ran away to live with his uncle for a period of time, where he himself learned of King Rigmund's dark secrets. Jacquot is resentful of the King due to this, and returned to The Great King's Wharf, and acted as a loyal noble to get insider information from the King. Shortly after his return to The Great King's Wharf, he met Brendan, who he discovered to have lived a similar fate to his own. They became friends, working along side each other to attempt to overthrow King Rigmund.
In season 1 episode 20, The Great Escape, Jacquot expresses that he never desired to take lives, but resorted to doing so under allegiance to Brendan with the goal of overthrowing or executing the King.
Interesting Features[]
Since a young age, Jacquot has had a fascination with silver, hence the "Quicksilver" password in season 1 episode 9, Out Of Time, and the silver mask he is first seen wearing in arc 1 episode 6, Book Club. In season 1 episode 20, The Great Escape, Jacquot briefly mentions that his father once made him a mask out of silver. This mask may be the one he is initially seen wearing, but this is neither confirmed or denied.
Jacquot was one of two bearers of the Vengolor Crest ring, which was given to him by Brendan. This ring was initially meant for Sylnan or Br'aad.
In the now deleted Official JRWI discord Jacquot was implied/half confirmed to be bisexual or at least attracted to both men and women by his creator; the former fated DM. After saying "Jacquot came here to steal your girl AND boy, he don't discriminate" someone asked him if jacquot was canonically bisexual because of this and he responded with a eye emoji and emote before saying "my only anwser is [eye emoji]" which while interpreted by most as a knowing look/hinted yes is not an outright confirmation.
In arc 2 Episode 20, Uncut Ties Jacquot mentions he prefers a pale berried wine after Redd asks him about his favourite drink. In this same episode, Redd asks Jacquot if he is a vampire who then earnestly responds he isn't before asking if it's his accent that's causing Redd to ask.
Arc 1[]
Jacquot first appears in the Thieves Guild in episode 6, Book Club, and is approached by Sylnan, who inquires about the Blue Orc and Brendan. He suggests that Br'aad, Mountain, and Sylnan visit his home that evening to discuss further. In episode 9, Out Of Time, the party assumes that Jacquot was behind the kidnapping of Hilltree, and Mountain, Sylnan, and Br'aad visit his home. He invites them in, and reveals to them that Hilltree was taken by Brendan and is in the sewers underground. When they attempt to leave, Jacquot traps them in, and attacks them. Jacquot successfully beats both Sylnan and Mountain, kidnapping them. In half-episode 10.5, Risky Business, Jacquot and Brendan face the restrained Mountain and Sylnan.
Jacquot is seen for a final time in Arc 1 during episode 20, The Great Escape, where he is seen in the dungeon cell across from Taxi's. Taxi and Jacquot discuss the wrongdoings of King Rigmund and why Jacquot is loyal to Brendan as we learn a small portion of the histories of both Jacquot and Brendan. Br'aad and Tristan free both Taxi and Jacquot from the dungeon.
Arc 2[]
Jacquot appears in episode 20, Uncut Ties, where he invites the party to his home in Luminesa. He explains to the party the current state of the Great King's Wharf, and how he had to flee to Luminesa for his own safety; going by the alias Axel Brogard while there. He talks about what his sources that are still in the Wharf have told him, particularly that King Rigmund has started abusing potions or brews of some kind. While Jacquot says he has no idea what they are or who's making them, they've apparently been "giving him powers he didn't have before." He speaks privately with Sylnan and Br'aad afterwards.
