Katherine is the late girlfriend of Sylnan Vengolor that seemingly became a minor deity after her passing, for undiscovered reasons. As an NPC, she was played by the previous DM.
Description
Katherine is a shorter, young adult female human, with long light brown hair.
Background/History
Katherine lived in The Great King's Wharf, where she met Sylnan. They began a relationship with each other, although the time frame of this relationship is unknown.
During the year prior to the beginning of the campaign, Katherine mysteriously went missing. As revealed in Arc 1, Katherine was investigating the Cult of Ungaroh. When she delved too deep into their plans, they kidnapped and The Barber killed her.
Arc 1
Katherine was first mentioned in Episode 2: The Ballad Of Tibsy, when Sylnan had a dream about her being tied up somewhere deep in the sewers.
In Episode 21: Ghostly Grapes, Katherine is in a realm of her own creation alongside Sylnan, having brought his soul there through her sheer will alone. While there, she tries to help him through his inner turmoil, bringing him through some of his memories. After doing so, she expresses to him that she believes herself to be a god, seeing every moment in time all at once and being able to do things like create the realm they were sitting in, and needs his support to continue to stay there and help/be with him. She also explains that she was killed by The Barber after seeing one of the fish folk near the sewers.
Arc 2
Katherine appears briefly along side Sylnan in A2 Episode 25: Broken Faith, when Br'aad is pulled back in time. Katherine speaks briefly with Sylnan in A2 Episode 29: Bros Before Woes, when Sylnan calls out to her, discussing his fears and worries regarding his inner demon. Katherine tells him to rely more on his brother and friends, and informs him that there are arcanic waves being sent out, pinging onto Sylnan and Velrisa, and bouncing back to where they came from. Katherine appears again in A2 Episode 30: Family Reunion, when she thanks Sylnan for gaining another follower for her, and shows him the strength she gains from it.
