During the Events of Wonderlust[]
In Episode 1: One Man's Trash, Pinch begrudgingly agreed to allow his younger cousin, Runt, join in on a heist at the surface to steal a crate of medicine. He was hesitant, concerned for her health, the threat of the Uplanders and Clockwork Soldiers, but most of all determined to obtain the materials the Apothecary needed. Pinch prepared supplies for the journey with Doppler before meeting Runt at the entrance of two caves. Throughout the preparation and travel, Pinch warned Runt about the dangers of the Uplander technology and the possibility that she could end up not returning to Reclaim. Pinch destroys a mite in their ascent and attempts to remove a mite from Runt's skin once they've reached the surface. Pinch was confused by Runt's opposition to breaking the mite but gave her the chance to take the mite apart. Pinch was surprised by Runt's success in removing the mite's cog mandibles.

Pinch cares a lot about Runt's wellbeing, refusing to let her join in on the Streetrats' heists and missions for her safety. After he did finally agree to let her join in, he was visibly stressed and explained that he was stressed because of Runt's participation in the mission to the surface.
