Queen is a humanoid of an unknown age. They have pale skin and vibrant purple eyes, with thin black lines going down each cheek. Their very long, straight, silvery white hair is worn in two flowing ponytails tied by pink ribbons. He wears a tall black top hat with silver music note designs wrapping around the base. Her shirt is white and ruffly, and she wears an indigo vest over it. Black, embroidered, pointy sleeves go down from the elbows to the wrists, and they wear solid black gloves. He wears high waisted tight white pants, with pink belt straps around the thighs. Black designs with silver trimming go up one leg, and their pointy, knee high boots have purple diamond decorations around the top. They have coattails that are the same color as their vest, with geometric silver trimmings. They carry an enormous, ornate, magical oboe which they use to cast spells and play music. Their voice is very whimsical and musical, they have no tattoos.

During episode 106, they came under a magical effect that gave them a single eye on the back of their neck. It's unclear whether this is a permanent effect or not.

In episode 113, they take off their top hat to reveal tall, white rabbit ears. He replaces his top hat with a small gold crown that sits between his ears.

Personality[]

Queen is positive, optimistic, and supportive, all of which are shown through his bubbly personality and happy-go lucky attitude. She is extremely honest and straightforward, giving thoughts and details about her past without any restraint. They enjoy sailing with the Riptide Pirates a lot and they care deeply about the crew. His limited memory makes all of his experiences very exciting, and he has a thorough and contagious love for life. Their passion is writing and singing music. They constantly sing the melodies of the songs they write so that one day, when their curse is lifted, they can write them all down. This leads to his signature speaking quirk, “lalala!” After meeting Josias Chopin Bach, they realized that they had no idea who they were before their memory was erased, and it terrified them. He is scared of who he was before and scared of remembering. Her primary goal is to lift her curse so that one day she can fulfil her lifelong dream of being a renowned musician. During battle, they can often be seen in the crow’s nest singing thematic music and inspiring the crew. She has an affinity for both poetry and tailoring.

Before getting picked up by Gillion in All-Port, Queen was a musician auditioning to be an entertainer at Old Man Earl's tavern. It’s implied he had been wandering aimlessly in All-Port for quite some time. After seeing Queen perform Gillion sought them out, and the two of them quickly hit it off. She revealed to Gillion that she was under a curse that stopped her from finishing the songs she wrote. Gillion agreed to help her lift the curse and suggested that she join Gillion and the Tidestriders, to which she excitedly accepted. They told Gillion that “Queen” was a chosen stage name but that they also didn’t have any other name. Gillion insisted she join the crew, Queen became a full time member of the Riptide Pirates.

Queen later told Chip that they didn’t remember much of their past, and the only thing they had a clear recollection of was waking up in All-Port with the powerful urge to sing. He also notably said that being on a pirate ship with a crew felt strangely familiar. When Chip questioned her about any memories of Niklaus Hendrix, she didn’t seem to have any memories or other signs of Niklaus’s intervention.

They smoked weed with Chip and Gillion before the fight with the electrodon, then assisted the crew in the actual battle. In the aftermath of the fight, they traveled to the Town of Zero on the island of Canella. Queen explored the sights of the city, and while the captains traveled to Featherbrook to cure Gillion’s curse Queen helped Gryffon, Ollie, and Drey fight the band of thieves terrorizing the town. Queen and Ollie were assigned to save the sick from a hospital the thieves had burned, which they did with some success.

The crew traveled to the Black Sea and sailed to Onawa Country. Queen accompanied Chip, Jay, Gillion, and Gryffon onto land, then began a treacherous hike through the Spider Lily Capital along with two survivors named Igneous and Zamia. The group split up, and Queen traveled through the city with Chip and Igneous. The three were attacked by Eurydi, a member of the Arachnid Pirates, and Queen put her to sleep so the trio could escape.  Once inside Daphne Palace, they were met with three more Arachnid crew members including Josias Chopin Bach, a violinist who played a hauntingly beautiful tune. Queen recognized the music, and it terrified them. Negotiations with Captain Widow went downhill quickly, and the ensuing battle was brutal. Queen had a hard time drowning out Bach’s music, but eventually prevailed. She told the captains that she could recognize Bach, and that he must know what happened to her before she was cursed and lost her memory. Despite this, Queen dealt the final blow to the rivaling musician with their oboe. The captains stabbed his heart inside Captain Widow, killing him permanently.

In the aftermath of the Arachnid Pirates defeat, Queen assisted the survivors in decorating the palace for Zamia and Star's wedding. She helped design many of the outfits worn at the wedding with the assistance of Alasse, who she also sat with at the wedding. He magically made his oboe sound like a piano to play music for the ceremony, and afterwards departed from Onawa Country with the rest of the Riptide Pirates. Back at sea, they sat on a balcony at the back of the Albatross contemplating their interaction with Bach. She was approached by Chip, Jay, and Gillion who saw that something was something wrong and wanted to comfort her. They confided in the captains that they were terrified that, before they lost their memory, they were a bad person. He was afraid that if the memories ever did come back he would go back to being whoever he was before, and the time he had spent with the Riptide Pirates would amount to nothing. Gillion assured Queen that everyone would stand by them no matter what, and Chip and Jay crafted them a small, golden crown. Queen threw her top hat off into the Black Sea and replaced it with her gift. After a disastrous venture into the Promised Bastion, the captains learned that there was a traitor planted on the Grandberry Pirates. The crew decided to split up, and along with about half of the crewmates Queen was sent through the teleportation portal to Canella.

Trivia[]

  • Their name is Queen because the crew was listening to Bohemian Rhapsody during the session they were introduced
  • They were inspired by the character Siegfried from Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple
  • Charlie theorized that Queen was a non-human turned into a human, and that was the reason for their personality and memory gaps
