Episode Events[]

Old Man Earl pretends to be injured so he can take Clorten’s briefcase and it’s money. They look inside and see it’s a briefcase of holding. Inside it is an immovable rod, that you can click to turn it immovable or not immovable.

Chip wakes up to see that Gillion has made an ice arena on the ship. Gill gives a speech, saying that the elders of the Undersea told him that humans were greedy and self-indulgent at the expense of others. But Gillion didn’t listen, and trusted Chip and Jay. He reminds Chip about last episode when Chip revealed that he had been lying and pranking Gill. Gillion says that he has never seen Chip put himself in a position to protect anyone, but puts himself before others for something as small as his own enjoyment. Now because of Chip’s deceptions, how Gillion represents his people has been skewed. Chip has damaged his pride, and he needs it restored with a duel.

At first, Chip thinks he’s joking. But soon he realizes it’s serious, and refuses to fight because Gillion is his friend. As Gillion asks him again and again to duel, Chip becomes furious, pointing out that he never lied to Gillion when his life was at stake. Gillion blew up his ship and roped him into things he didn’t want to be a part of, but he still went with him, and wouldn’t have done it for anyone else. In his eyes, Chip always had Gillion’s back and Gillion wants to throw that away over a couple of jokes.

As they’re about to fight, Jay walks up and sees this. She runs in between them. They explain the conflict, and she agrees to be a bystander while they fight, but readies an action to intervene if it looks like one of them will die. Gillion beats Chip pretty badly. Chip drops his swords, telling Gillion to go ahead and kill him. Gillion says he won’t accept a forfeit. Jay runs up and kicks the sword out of Gill’s hand.

She angrily asks what this is accomplishing, saying that they’re both idiots. They’ve been together for a month, and things are already in pieces. Chips snaps back that this isn’t her problem, but she responds that it is, because they’re a crew. Jay also reveals that she knew that the lemurs that blew up their ship could breathe fire, she just wanted to see them up close. Chip says he never should’ve picked Gil up from the ocean, and Gillion retorts that he never should’ve taken Chip’s hand.

Gillion asks if he accepts defeat and he says yes. He storms below decks. Gillion thinks this has been completely resolved and they’re friends again. Chip pulls out his coin that Arlin gave him. He has a flashback of when he was a kid, after playing a prank on Drey. Arlin tells him that a good prank always ends with everyone laughing. If someone’s upset, it wasn’t a good one.
