"I'm a lawyer!" -Rolan Deep

Description[]

Appearance[]

Rolan wears a beige suit, blue tie, white undershirt, and leather shoes. He has a scruffy beard and slicked back hair with a lanky build.

Personality[]

Rolan is well-liked, at least in Chicago. He's the most mature of his friend group in the time since they've graduated. Oftentimes Rolan will put his own needs aside to focus on his goal. He does his best to have others do all of the dirty work. Rolan is typically a coward but he would rather himself get hurt than those he cares about.

Background/History[]

In middle school, Rolan was a champion long jumper. Frequently he would skip practice to play D&D with Kian and Rand, so he had to do makeup training.

In high school, Rolan would frequently sneak out the basement window to hang out with Rand and Kian, and a key was kept under the fake rock by the door. One day, Rolan went to a party with Rand when they were supposed to be watching Rachel. Not long after when visiting the tree by the cemetery he saw possibly hundreds of bodies in the water but no one believed him.

Upon graduating, Rolan applied to as many out of state universities as he could. He happened to go to a law school in Chicago where it is mentioned that he had several bad experiences with alcohol before it is implied that he became an alcoholic. He went on to be a defense attorney specializing in criminal and juvenile cases.

Relationships[]

Kian Stone[]

Rolan cares a lot about Kian, although he doesn't appreciate Kian's constant attempts to have him see a therapist. He says that he will never take Kian to jail although someone someday likely will.

Rand[]

Rolan does his best to not piss off Rand, however he does struggle with Rand being an asshole towards him for seemingly no reason. He does not hesitate to call him out though and gets very annoyed with him. While arguing, Rolan says that getting away from Rand is the best decision he has ever made. He has not done his best to keep up, but he does care. After what happened with Rachel, Rolan pushed him away and blamed himself.

Trivia[]

  • Rolan's d&d character is a paladin
  • Originally Rolan was going to be a gambling addict, but that concept was scrapped
