Appearance[]
Shilo is an extremely pale vampire with red eyes and long, pointed ears. He is blonde, and his relatively short hair is slicked back with just a few pieces left out around his hairline. His eyebrows, which are the same color as his hair, are furrowed to give him a constantly worried expression. He is very slender, especially when compared to Emizel. The emerald green top he wears is tight fitting and long sleeved, completed with golden trimming on the cuffs and shoulders. Over this, he wears a vest that is a slightly different shade of green with a floral pattern, as well as gold buttons. The white ascot he wears is the same color as his gloves. On top of this is a deep green cape with an exaggerated tall collar, tied with a gold Bathroy crest. His pants are tight fitting black dress pants, tied with a very high waisted black belt. He has a very kind and innocent look, and is allowed to get away with a lot because of it.

Deacon Keller gifted him a gold deputy badge, which he pinned to his cape opposite of his family crest.
At Elysium, Shilo put on a much more extravagant outfit for the event. His white dress shirt was accented with a red gem at the collar, tucked into high waisted, double breasted dress pants. His long overcoat was green on the outside and gold on the inside, accented with gold tassels at the end. He wore winged eyeliner and blush, as well as a bit of jewelry on the ends of his ears. His Bathroy crest was accented by bird feathers and he still wore the deputy badge given to him by Deacon.
After being brought to Edward Twilight’s mansion by Deacon, he woke up in an emerald green bathrobe. He changed into a sports coat of a similar color with bird feathers on the shoulders.
In the Midnight Circle, he ripped out his right eye in exchange for information. He never wore any kind of eye patch and walked around with a bloody hole in his face for days.
In preparation for the Cullen Games, Shilo’s appearance was modified by Viv and Vex to look exactly like Emizel. His eye was put back, his posture was made worse, his teeth were made sharp, and at the end he looked identical to his twin even in voice.
Personality[]
As a result of his many years confined in Umber Castle, Shilo is very naive. He grew up with a lack of empathy for subservient vampires as well as humans, which he views more like pets or food than people. He uses his mental abilities very frequently without considering the effect it might have on the people he uses them on. Despite this, he makes connections with people very easily and after short conversations he quickly overcomes this lack of empathy. He's generally outgoing and friendly, particularly when compared to Emizel and Arthur. He is charismatic and immediately considered charming by everyone he meets. He is also viewed by others as very innocent both in appearance and personality. He is respectful of others and highly aware of vampire customs as a result of his upbringing as royalty. He is proper and well spoken and is considered the diplomat and social butterfly of the group. Despite this, he grew up extremely lonely. He likes people a lot and he always wanted to leave Umber Castle and see the world. In Umber Castle he was bored and was bad at following his mother's direction, showcasing a resentment towards authority that is reflected even more in his relationship with Arthur. He is an idealist, trying to see the best in any situation and refusing to give up before achieving his goals. Simultaneously, he is sensitive and at the slightest hardship will burst into tears. Many of the ideals he grew up with are challenged by his time in LA, and a lot of his personality and ideals are different by the end of Season 1.

Shilo and Emizel were both supposed to be born human, but something went wrong in the ritual surrounding their birth. Emizel killed Shilo in the womb, causing Emizel to be born human but Shilo to be born a vampire. Emizel was sent away to live in LA, while Shilo was raised in Umber Castle with his mother, The Queen, and his Uncle Lazarus. He was never allowed to leave the castle, and Lazarus was his only friend. He was raised as the son of The Queen, spending his time learning how to fence and reading.
During Canon[]
Shilo woke up one day like usual to get ready for the day and fence with his Uncle Lazarus. He beat his uncle for the first time. Lazarus left to get him a pheasant, and Shilo got his guards to let him out of his room under the guise of going to the bathroom. One guard was killed by a higher up in the castle for conversing with Shilo, and Shilo convinced the remaining guard to take him to the study. Here Shilo found a locked cabinet and took some documents before being escorted back to his room. Looking through the files he found The Queen was keeping tabs on a place called No Brakes Car Repair in Los Angeles. As he finished reading, his mother entered the room. She scolded him for dominating his guards and taking her files, but he continued to ask more questions about what she was keeping tabs on. She dominated him into giving her back the documents and never speaking of them again. Then she grounded him and left. All of this was too much for Shilo, and he went into a frenzy. He stepped out of his room and told the two guards that if they didn’t take him to the Darkened Door, a portal that could take the user anywhere, he would claim they had threatened his life. They took him to the bottom of the castle where Luna Lamia was watching over the portal. Shilo stepped through the door with the one remaining guard, thinking about No Brakes Car Repair, LA.
As he stepped out of the door, he came out of his frenzy and saw Arthur Bennett lurking outside the shop. He learned his guard’s name was Grefgor, and looked outside to see Arthur was gone. As Arthur walked down the street, Emizel jumped down from a rooftop and the two began to fight. Shilo and Grefgor turned tail and ran back to the car repair shop. Finding the Darkened Door was gone, the two kindred laid down on the ground and played dead. Jeffery Tucker, who lived above the shop, walked down the stairs to see the two of them pretending to be staked on the ground and yelled, “EMIZEL WHAT THE FUCK?”

Emizel convinced his father that Shilo and Grefgor were just strange foreign exchange students, and he had just finished explaining his story when Arthur restrained Jeffery with shadows. Emizel wanted Shilo to remove his memory that Emizel had ever been his son, but Shilo just changed his memory of that night. As Emizel put his father back in bed, Arthur told Shilo he knew he was a prince and wasn’t supposed to be out of the castle. Arthur drove them to Club Crepuscule, which he knew to be a vampire meeting place. At the club, Shilo and Emizel tried to walk in but were stopped by bouncers. Shilo dominated one of the bouncers to let them in, but the other immediately tried to punch the prince. Emizel blocked the blow, but Shilo still called out for help to some mortals across the street. As Emizel fought the bouncers, police cars pulled up to arrest Shilo and Grefgor. They were left in a holding cell for the night and happened to meet Emizel’s friend, Soda. Soda offered Shilo a Sprite Cranberry, and he drank it but thought it was unhealthy. He mesmerized Soda into believing that he shouldn’t drink soda anymore. Soda was extremely distressed and reintroduced himself as Theo, then went to sleep for the night. Soon, Deacon Keller showed up to check on them. Shilo told Deacon he was a prince, and Deacon was shocked but agreed to watch over him if he stopped causing trouble. He led Shilo outside just as Emizel and Arthur arrived, and Arthur offered to take custody of Shilo but Deacon insisted he watch over the prince himself. Right before Arthur and Emizel went on their way, Deacon asked Arthur to “deal with” Grefgor. Shilo threatened to speak poorly of Deacon to his mother if anything bad happened to Grefgor, and led away peacefully.
Deacon drove Shilo to a penthouse for the day. Two men brought him a human named Craig to feed off. Shilo mesmerized him repeatedly and tried to drink his blood but got uncomfortable, then cut his ties so they could just hang out. Blood from a small cut Shilo had made started to tempt him, so he made Craig leave before he went into a frenzy and removed Craig’s memory of the incident. Shilo went to sleep in the bathtub. That day, he dreamed about leaving the castle and exploring the grounds. The next night, Shilo woke up and pressed a button that said “blood" on the wall. Two men brought Craig back, and this time Shilo made them drain Craig’s blood into a cup for him until he bled out. Deacon showed up after a while and appointed Shilo the vampire deputy of LA. The two went out into the town to get ready for Elysium, a party at Club Crepuscule that night. They visited many spots in Los Angeles including Rodeo Drive, a casino, the Hollywood sign, and finally the Venice Beach Boardwalk. Shilo bought one of each hotdog at a stand on the beach and took a bite of a chili dog. The garlic on it made him throw up, and afterwards he and Deacon finally made their way to Club Crepuscule for Elysium.
Shilo entered alongside Deacon, gathering the attention of a small crowd of people with his appearance and demeanor. Emizel introduced himself to Deacon as if he didn’t know them already. Shilo spotted Grefgor and the two started dancing together in the middle of the room, garnering the attention of many kindred. Soon enough, the keeper Renwick the Ravenous introduced the important people at the party. Last introduced was Shilo himself. His arrival had a mixed reception from partygoers. Shilo interrupted Arthur's conversation with Edward Twilight, much to Edward’s frustration, causing the primogen to make a few rude comments then leave. Under the guise of gifting Shilo his family flask, Arthur explained that the Grimslayers would soon launch an attack on the club. Renwick announced it was time to feed, and Shilo, Emizel, Arthur, and Grefgor were all shuffled to a body. Edward came over the microphone next to announce that Shilo had never drank blood directly from a person. He insisted Shilo take a drink in front of everyone. With Arthur’s encouragement, Shilo told Edward to “suck it.” Edward was offended but still insisted he drink from the body, which he did. He ran off to the bathroom with Grefgor and Arthur. In the bathroom, Arthur told him the body was drugged. Shilo hallucinated Grefgor melting down into the floor as an effect of the drug and immediately started panicking. Arthur led them to a nearby exit, and on the way Shilo distantly heard Emizel claim he was his brother. Arthur pried open the door to see a group of Grimslayers on the other side. As he spotted them the whole building burst into flames, and the Grimslayer raid began. Shilo pulled Arthur and Grefgor towards the secret entrance he had come in with Deacon, but saw this door was also blocked by fire. Emizel found them and told them there might be a sewer entrance somewhere that they could go through. Joined by Grefgor, he ran towards the sewer entrance and crawled down in a craze. They met back up with Arthur down in the sewers, and just as they realized Emizel wasn’t with them a roaring explosion came down the pipe as Club Crepuscule exploded.
After the explosion, Arthur ignored Shilo and walked away, quickly finding Deacon Keller wounded in an alley. At first Shilo greeted Deacon kindly, but as Deacon turned on Arthur and tried to shoot him Shilo jumped in front of the bullet. Shilo told Deacon there had been enough bloodshed already, and the fight came to an unsteady peace. After Deacon was knocked out by Grefgor’s elbow, the group stayed in a hotel for the day. The next night, Emizel came back and insisted Shilo turn Theo back into Soda, which Shilo did. Shilo tried to explain that his mother had been keeping tabs on someone in LA and quickly realized that his mother’s command to never speak of what he had learned had worn off. After returning to the BnB, Emizel and Shilo were left alone and Emizel casually mentioned that he had seen news that a castle in Romania had exploded. This along with the fact that his mother’s command on him was gone led Shilo to believe his mother was dead. Emizel tried to comfort him, but it didn’t do much and Shilo went into complete shock. When Arthur returned, he offered to take away Shilo’s feelings about the event but this pushed Shilo even further into his grief. The next night, they visited The Unseen One for information. They took an elevator to an endless server room, where two Nosferatu guards told them “if you see it, it will take you.” Shilo closed his eyes and, as respectfully as possible, announced himself to The Unseen One. He was pulled away from the group by a figure that appeared to him as his mother. Arthur, Emizel, and Grefgor all opened their eyes and tried to convince Shilo to open his eyes as well. He refused, despite their different tactics, and they left him behind. Behind his eyelids, Shilo saw an image of his mother clapping and walking towards him. They introduced themselves, and Shilo asked the fate of his mother and the identity of the woman Arthur was looking for. Shilo learned Vanya Hemlock was working at Riverside Senior Living, but decided he didn’t want to know about his mother. He gave two memories: first, one of his mother telling him the world was his; and second, listening in on a meeting between clan leaders. He opened his eyes and found himself outside the building.
Outside Obscura Systems, they realized Grefgor had been left behind. Shilo and Emizel decided to go back in to get him and answer some of Emizel’s questions. Shilo went as far as the elevator but refused to go back into the server room. Soon enough, Emizel and Grefgor were back. Shilo hugged Grefgor, and they all went to Riverside Senior Living. As Arthur failed to dominate a night nurse in the parking lot, Shilo jumped in front of her car and told her Arthur was dangerous. She let him into her car, and he mesmerized her into bringing out Vanya’s schedule. The four vampires found a hotel for the day, and after an attempt by Arthur to teach Shilo how to feed they all went to sleep. The next night, Arthur told the twins they didn’t have to come with him. Both wanted to, and Shilo agreed to just watch the exits. Shilo and Emizel quickly got distracted and went into Riverside. They heard a voice coming from the bathroom and investigated to find Uncle Lazarus scrying to them through a toilet. Lazarus explained the attack on Umber Castle had destabilized vampire society, and he had lost contact with all the other primogen as well as Shilo’s mother. Lazarus put a pheasant through the portal as Shilo had requested so long ago. Riding this high, Shilo dominated every single elderly person in the home to listen for whatever command he gave over the intercom. As Shilo bonded with the receptionist, Emizel told him that they all needed to leave and save his gang, who was being threatened by his sire. They got all the old people onto the bus and sped off towards the Demon’s hideout with the entire population of Riverside Senior Living. Shilo opened the doors to see Emizel impaled on the arm of a bone monster, and tried to make peace with Gabriel. He was not able to diffuse the situation and Gabriel impaled him in the leg. Gabriel got one stab into Shilo’s torso before the prince was able to drive away in the bus, leaving all of the old people behind.
Severely wounded, Shilo searched for the sheriff’s symbol to get Deacon for help. He left the bus behind and walked until he found a police car. One of the cops happened to be a vampire, and he said he would call Deacon as long as Shilo confirmed he recognized “Prince Edward Twilight” as his ruler. Shilo pretended to be unconscious so he wouldn’t have to answer, so the officer gave up and called Deacon. Deacon brought Shilo to Edward Twilight’s mansion. When Shilo woke up, he was in a huge ornate bed with Edward Twilight sitting on the edge. He had been fed some of Edward’s blood to heal his wounds. Edward explained he wanted Shilo to help him rule because he was part of the royal bloodline. Shilo insisted they meet somewhere more appropriate, so Edward left Shilo to change clothes. He changed and accidentally drank even more of Edward’s blood, then made his way downstairs. On the way there, he ran into Deacon and requested that the sheriff accompany Shilo to talk with Edward. In a huge hall, Edward explained his master plan to take control of the city. Shilo told Edward why he was in LA, and as he started talking about his mother Edward used his abilities to force Shilo to tell his entire story, including his relationship to Emizel. Shilo got a Twiphone from Deacon and went on his way. As he stepped outside Grefgor immediately sprinted up to him and brought him back to the hotel at an incredible speed. Shilo, Emizel, Grefgor, and the pheasant were all finally reunited. As Shilo hid the Twiphone in another room, all three kindred came under the effects of the Pulse of the City. Shilo made the Edward Twilight face for only about 10 minutes because he had been in the city for such a short time. They decided that Edward had gone too far and began to craft their master plan.
By the next night, Shilo and Emizel used playing cards on a wall of the hotel to map out their master plan. For the first step, they needed to pick up Theo from rehab. On the way there, they stopped at Walmart for blood. At rehab, Shilo and Theo made up as Theo was grateful that removing his appreciation for soda had allowed him to find water. They all drove towards the Weylin twin’s warehouse to save the kidnapped gang members. Emizel tried to rip a metal panel off a wall to infiltrate, but one of the defense bats Viv and Vex made heard him. Shlio dominated it before alarms were sounded, and they all got in. Shilo used his powers to calm as many captured people as possible as he explained their plan. Ghouls grabbed one of the prisoners, and Shilo forced him to stay quiet so he wouldn’t blow their cover. Emizel returned with the incriminating files they were looking for and they decided to use Emizel as a distraction while Shilo and Theo led the gang members out. As Shilo was focused on the people, a defense bat spotted him and screamed, alerting Viv and Vex to his location. Shilo tried to run away but tripped and fell. As they approached him, Theo threw his Molotov. It landed between Shilo and the Weylins, both of whom were overcome by the Red Fear. Shilo ran to the truck and they all loaded the remaining wounded gang members into the back, speeding off into the desert.
They all drove the wounded people to No Brakes, finding that Emizel’s father wasn’t home and the shop was a mess. Shilo and Grefgor cleaned it while Theo called Emizel. Shilo told Emizel to kidnap a doctor over the phone, then dropped Theo's phone on the ground. He sent Grefgor to get a new phone while he tried to bandage the wounded gang members. As he started to give them medical attention, the blood from their wounds caused him to lose control and kill the man he was caring for. Theo poured the contents of his Nalgene onto Shilo, which snapped Shilo out of it, and he commanded Theo to “run.” As Shilo curled up on the ground, Emizel burst in and tackled him. He punched Shilo in the face then locked him in a bathroom. Emizel told Shilo that he shouldn’t see the Demons anymore and they went back to the hotel. As Shilo went into the bathroom to go to sleep, he was attacked by the pheasant. The pheasant knocked itself out and Shilo insisted they turn it into a vampire to ensure it wouldn’t die. When it didn’t wake up, he gave it the last of his blood and went into torpor. The next night, he was awoken by Grefgor, who informed him the pheasant had turned overnight and was now terrorizing humans in a park. The two went back to the hotel with Pickles the pheasant and reunited with Emizel and Arthur. Shilo updated Arthur on everything that had happened and explained their master plan. They decided they needed Deacon and set out into the city to find him. They called him repeatedly, but only found Edward Twilight repeatedly as a result of Shilo’s blood bond with the primogen. Eventually, they gave up looking, called Deacon from a Twiphone in hopes it would help their chances of him picking up. It didn’t work so they met back up with Emizel and Grefgor at a motel. It was the night of the full moon, so they went to Griffith Observatory Park to meet with the Midnight Circle. The witches made them play one word story to express a unified purpose. They began a sentence but it was incomprehensible, so they called for mulligan and the sentence they settled on was “tell us the secrets of our curse.
The Midnight Circle offered goblets of their blood in order to join the coven. Emizel and Arthur both drank it, but Shilo was more hesitant. Eventually he conceded and they all found themselves in the Lunarchive The circle informed them that they wouldn’t have to complete their trials in a month or they wouldn't be allowed to leave. Shilo’s first trial was reading books, using his knowledge of library organization to help him find the information he was looking for. His second trial consisted of traveling back to his old room and reading books he used to read in Umber Castle. As he read, the old stories changed to new information. For Shilo’s final trial, he stepped into a beam of sunlight. He stared into it even though it burned him and gained his thaumaturgy. Shilo assisted Emizel in his final trial by teaching him how to learn etiquette. Emizel didn’t learn the lesson Shilo tried to teach him, but completed the trial nonetheless. Shilo was then given the opportunity to sacrifice something for knowledge. He gave up his right eye. He first asked how his mother had become such a good leader, and he was given his mother’s life story and the way she had been turned and risen to power. Second, he asked what Edward Twilight’s weakness was. He learned Edward hadn’t always looked the way he did, but had been given plastic surgery by Viv and Vex. After his operation, he began blood-bonding his associates. Shilo rejoined Arthur and Emizel in the Lunarchive and they dropped down into a Los Angeles park to immediately run into Edward Twilight. Edward gave them new Twiphones, and as he walked off they were approached by Grefgor in a new Walmart uniform with a new human girlfriend. They all went back to Grefgor and Hazel’s flat, where Shilo took Grefgor aside to tell him that his relationship with Hazel was a bad idea. He was suspicious that something supernatural was affecting Grefgor, so he used his newfound thaumaturgy but found Grefgor had not been blood bonded or otherwise mentally affected. Shilo, Emizel, Arthur, and Grefgor then all left to find somewhere to stay the night. They went to Taylor Lautner’s house, but when Taylor Lautner began to turn into a werewolf they ran away to find another house.
They decided to stay in an influencer house instead. Shilo, Emizel, and Arthur revised the master plan and all went their separate ways. Shilo went into the city to continue the search for Deacon, but as he wandered he started to get disoriented. He followed what he thought was Deacon, then heard Uncle Lazarus' voice coming from an alley and followed that instead. He suddenly found himself in front of Edward Twilight’s mansion and walked inside. The next thing he knew, he was back in the TikTok house. Arthur used the Spirits Touch on the wristband Shilo was now wearing and saw Edward had told Shilo he would play a special role at the upcoming party. He also saw Edward had two clones of himself working as servants. Arthur rushed off and Shilo took an influencer and walking around the city saying phrases that would get Deacon’s attention. Deacon found them and shot the influencer for breaking the masquerade. The sheriff scolded Shilo for the breach and arrested him. Shilo was brought back to Deacon’s office, where he explained everything Edward was doing. Deacon wanted proof that Shilo didn’t have but was interested in his claims. He told Shilo the yellow wristband would be much better for the party, then allowed him to run away. Shilo ran into Emizel on the way back to the influencer house, and Emizel explained he had gotten the Weylin Twins to switch their faces. Back at the house, they decided to go see Viv and Vex in the hopes that switching Emizel and Shilo would foil Edward's plans. The twins were brought to the Weylin’s warehouse and met up with Viv and Vex. Vex brought Shilo and Emizel back into his studio, and as Vex began to work Shilo passed out from the pain very quickly. When he woke up, he looked exactly like Emizel.
After reworking the master plan to Shilo and Emizel’s new appearances, the twins arranged to meet up with Theo and get the gang members to help them rig the island before the games started. At Griffith Observatory Park, Theo arrived with a huge group of Dangs. Shilo got scared and ran back to the TikTok house to sleep. In the day, he felt people take him and cover his head in a bag. When he next woke up, he was in the Cullen Games. Over the speakers, Shilo heard Renwick explain the contestants were vampires who had broken the masquerade. Renwick said there could be only one survivor, and they were surrounded by a barrier that would get closer as the night went on. Shilo immediately started crying. As he walked around a small river, he came across a Weylin twin creation: a huge bear with jagged teeth and fire breath. He successfully dominated it into running away and followed behind it for cover. He moved on and started to notice white animals stalking him. Out of the trees came Grangle the Gangrel, who attacked Shilo with all of his creatures. Shilo tried to convince Grangle to team up with him and when he said he was the prince, Grangle relented. The two found another small river that Shilo was not able to cross, so Grangle went on ahead. He came across an older man tied to a post, clearly set up as a source of blood. Shilo recognized him from Riverside and helped him down. He told Shilo his name was Ben, and they talked about Ben’s interest in birds and his late wife.

As Shilo and Ben made their way towards the center of the arena they came across another post holding the Riverside receptionist on it, and as Shilo realized she was unconscious Grangle rejoined him. He told Grangle Ben was bait and commanded Ben to be quiet. Shilo told Grangle to go on ahead of him, then removed Ben’s memory of his command. He carried the receptionist forward and asked Ben to follow him, knowing that the barrier was going to contract soon. Ben stopped following, and despite Shilo’s efforts to pull him forward Ben walked into the barrier. Shilo changed Ben’s last memory to a moment birdwatching with his wife. Arthur finally found Shilo and Arthur made leave them alone. Together, Shilo, Arthur, Emizel, and Taylor Lautner finally reached the baseball diamond in the middle of the arena. As they tried to recollect themselves, they heard Edward give the command “finish the game.” They were all compelled to kill each other, and Shilo first commanded Taylor Lautner to attack Emizel. The command failed and Taylor jumped on Shilo instead. At the same time, Arthur pulled Edward out of the spot he was hiding. Shilo prepared his thaumaturgy to use a spell on Edward. As Edward emerged, Shilo cast the spell. Edward’s appearance aged and became horribly monstrous. The primogen completely gave up, telling Shilo everyone knew he had ruined his mother’s life. Emizel cut Edward’s head off and chaos immediately broke out. As his head rolled, they noticed that the scar Emizel had given Edward earlier wasn’t on his face, meaning this hadn’t been the real Edward Twilight. Shilo accompanied Arthur into Taylor Lautner’s helicopter, and they left Emizel behind but insisted he would find them eventually. Shilo and Arthur flew back to Los Angeles.
