"Perhaps I have not been strict enough."
Evelyn Bathroy, more commonly referred to as "The Queen," is the ruler of the Ventrue clan and the mother of Shilo Bathroy and Emizel Tucker. She is played by Charlie Slimecicle.
Description[]
Appearance[]
The Queen is an extremely pale, tall vampire woman. She looks a bit older and has an extremely defined face. Her eyes are red and she wears a darker colored lipstick. Her crown is golden and very ornamental, matching the large golden earrings she wears. Her hair is straight and black. She wears a gold necklace with red stones. The dress she wears is a dark green and layered with a window revealing the top of her chest. The bodice of the dress reveals her slim figure and the arms of her dress are tight around the upper arm but loose around the wrists. She wears more gold jewelry with red accents around her waist. She is described as very ethereal.
Personality[]
She is very strict and keeps close control over the things that go on in the castle. She was very overbearing in Shilo's upbringing, never allowing him to leave the castle or learn things about the outside world. Everyone in the castle was terrified of her and she is widely regarded as extremely wise and powerful. That being said she was still a mother, and while her relationship with Shilo was rocky she did try her best and the two did have some good times together. Before she became the queen she looked much kinder and happier, going out of her way to care for the ill and wounded in the village she grew up in.
History[]
Pre Canon[]
When she was younger she lived in a very small, undeveloped village. She worked as an apothecary, healing the sick and injured of the town. She was heavily judged by some of the wealthier men in the area for what she was doing. Eventually, she came across an extremely old, wounded vampiric creature in the woods and cared for it despite being afraid of it. When she came out she was being watched by the same men, now horrified at her actions. They tried to burn her at the stake for witchcraft, but just as a torch was tossed onto the pyre she was tied to the creature she had healed swooped down and saved her. She was brought to Umber Castle, and the creature she had healed was now sitting on the throne, clearly identifiable as Dracula. She was at his side, and in anger she commanded the town to be burned down like they tried to burn her.
Eventually, Dracula disappeared. There was much fighting over the throne, but eventually Evelyn Bathroy emerged as the leader. She spent the years building up her kingdom and assembling the primogen with the Ventrue clan at the top.
With the help of the Tremere, The Queen was part of a ritual that would allow her to have children despite the fact that vampires usually could not get pregnant. The children were intended to both be human, but Emizel killed Shilo in the womb by accident. Emizel was sent off to live with Jeffery Tucker as a human while Shilo was kept in the castle as a vampire. The cat Salem was summoned by Luna Lamia at The Queen's request to watch over Emizel and grant him 9 lives in LA.
During Canon[]
One day in the castle, Shilo snuck out of his room and stole documents from Evelyn's personal file cabinet. They contained information about Jeffery Tucker and No Brakes Car Repair, and someone The Queen was keeping track of in LA. The Queen found him looking over these documents and berated him for looking through her things. Shilo wanted to know more about who she was keeping tabs on, and The Queen decided the best course of action would be to mesmerize Shilo into never being able to speak about what he learned again. She took the documents back and left his room. After this he ran away from the castle, and the last thing he saw of The Queen was her sitting in a room by herself crying.
Days later, the Grimslayers raided Umber Castle during the day. While The Queen's fate is unknown, the leader of the Grimslayers announced that she was dead and this is something that would not usually be done without solid proof. She was not seen by anyone after this attack and her command on Shilo released, leading most people to believe she was dead.
