"I just believe in not dyin'." -Wavelength, when asked by William Wisp why he was going to fight alongside heroes.
Description
Appearance
Wavelength is around around 6' tall (though this was said while he was wearing boots, which may have added an inch or so to his height). He has patches of reptilian scales on his skin, parts of which appear to be shedding. About a quarter of his face is covered in these scales. His left eye doesn't open at all, and his right eye switches between reptilian and human at random. The scales lead down his neck and across visible skin, implying that he may have them across many parts or all of his body.
As of S2 Episode 1: Dropouts, he has yellow lines down his arms going from glowing fists to two spots on his lower back. He additionally has a beard that is graying around the goatee area.
His "villain" suit is described as a loose green jacket with a puffy red hood. He wears a full black face mask with red goggles. His goggles seem to have infrared or dark vision. However, this was never explicitly stated, only implied though Bizly's description of his goggles glowing during his first fight with the Prime Defenders. He wears grey pants with tactical belts around each leg and large red boots. Wavelength's voice sounds robotic with his mask on. He wears two gauntlets, both metal with reddish energy coursing through them, though the color of the energy changes with the attacks Wavelength does. He has big wires leading from his gauntlets, neck and various places to a large back pack, that has needles that poke into his back to help activate and control his power.
As of Episode 20: Take Your Mark, his new villain suit is made of bulkier metal. It stays flush to his skin, and the pack is still on his back, as well as keeping the gauntlets. He has metal boots and his helmet is now a knight helmet with ears and a large metal tube on the neck. A faint yellow glow comes from a chest piece in the center of the suit and there are additional yellow accents around the body.
Personality
Mark is an aggressive type. He yells at the Prime Defenders and his own kid on many occasions, and seems to get pissed off easy. He is cranky, standoffish and generally unfriendly. Unlike some villains, however, he seems to only do what he needs to survive with the jobs he is given, which he reiterates on multiple occasions, and sees villain work as something he simply has to do. This indicates a moral grayness but not outright evil about him. He has also stated that injuring a child or hurting a kid is "crossing the line". So, he at least has some set of morals that he stands by. He prioritizes the wellbeing of himself and his family above others; a natural sort of human selfishness, not good or bad.
Powers
Wavelength is a walking energy source. As described by Bizly, "a part of his body that produces this energy" which can be manipulated through the suit he wears. He pulls energy from his lower back through two needles on his pack. Use of the pack with his energy manipulation creates a loud high pitched whine.
His powers manifest as a type of energy manipulation, with different colors for different types of energy. In one example he can fly forward, propelling green energy behind him. He can also form a red beam of energy, described to be a "cannon-like" beam, which does a considerable amount of damage.
Additionally, he has a mechanical side to his powers, using gadgets for some things. One of which is the ability to influence and change memories through use of a small device described as "gum sized", that he places on someone's head to remove memories of recent events.
The rest of his powers are unspecified.
Background/History
Not much is known about Wavelength's villain history, other than he was experimented on in the facility he was hired to work in. He had no say in the matter, believing if he denied the work and didn't protect "Facility OMEGA", he'd be killed. Wavelength seems to be a long running powerful villain, whose story prior to being brought under Overlord is unknown. In his own words, he believes he is "wrapped around [Overlord's] finger". Worth mentioning is that he has fought Tide "dozens of times".
His home life is more fleshed out, however. He has a son and a late wife, who was killed by Ashe in the form of the Trickster.
Trivia
